Medical Office Manager and Biller Overview
We are seeking a Medical Office Manager and Biller to join our growing primary care facility on a full-time basis in Howell, MI. As a key member of our administrative team, the Medical Office Manager and Biller will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while upholding our mission to deliver comprehensive and personalized healthcare to families. Responsibilities
- Supervise all front office operations, including patient scheduling, patient registration, and use of the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Oversee the medical billing cycle by reviewing, preparing, and submitting insurance and patient claims accurately and efficiently, both electronically and in paper format.
- Ensure timely and precise entry of payments from patients and insurance providers into practice management systems.
- Communicate with patients regarding account balances, payment arrangements, billing inquiries, and collections, while providing clear information to insurance companies and clinical staff as needed.
- Maintain compliance with medical coding standards, ensuring accuracy and adherence to current regulations and best practices.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the primary care practice, including organizing internal and external staff meetings and managing workflow to support exceptional patient care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain office policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Manage filing systems and organizational processes, ensuring the secure handling of patient and office documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Demonstrate a positive, professional, and service-oriented demeanor as a representative of the front office staff.
- Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned, supporting colleagues and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical office setting.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience within a healthcare environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding and billing, with a strong understanding of billing-related reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with both public and private medical payers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical billing and collection practices, policies, and systems relevant to primary care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical data documentation.
- Familiarity with reporting requirements for multiple payors and a working knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and billing processes.

- Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with medical staff, contractors, regulatory officials, and patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical office environment, demonstrating advanced skills in decision making, multitasking, prioritization, and problem solving.
- Proficiency in computer use, data entry, and retrieval of patient information, with familiarity in Windows-based applications and relevant healthcare software programs.
