Medical Office Clerk - Summary
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at the clinic.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and facilitate seamless patient access to healthcare services.
- Support healthcare providers by handling administrative and clerical tasks.
- Maintain accurate appointment systems and patient medical records.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer main office phone lines, direct calls, and take messages as needed.
- Arrange and schedule medical appointments, determine patient eligibility, and relay instructions or referrals.
- Obtain, update, and file patient medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and research patient records, extract needed information, and review records for consistency.
- Ensure timely arrival of medical records for scheduled appointments.
- Initiate and locate patient medical records as required.
- Obtain requested documentation for healthcare providers, such as test results or outstanding paperwork.
- Create appointment schedules and templates in the clinic’s computer system.
- Conduct end-of-day processes, resolving any pending or delinquent appointments.
- Perform a variety of other administrative and clerical duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in an office or administrative setting preferred.
- Ability to type at least 50 words per minute with accuracy.
- Demonstrated customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of medical ethics and telephone etiquette.
- Proficiency in office administration, including receptionist duties and phone systems.
- U.S. citizenship required.
