Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and check in patients as they arrive at the medical center, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently, maintaining an organized and accurate calendar to optimize provider schedules.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with patients, providing courteous assistance and responding to concerns or requests.
- Collaborate closely with office staff, providers, and other healthcare team members to support exceptional patient care and smooth office operations.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility to facilitate accurate billing and ensure coverage prior to appointments.
- File, organize, and scan patient documents, maintaining up-to-date and confidential medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Athena, to input and retrieve patient information, schedule appointments, and manage documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a medical or healthcare setting, particularly in administrative or front desk roles.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and a high level of organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the phone, with a focus on professionalism and empathy.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems (such as Athena) and basic office technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
