Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), to lead our outpatient primary care center in New Orleans, LA. This full-time leadership role is integral to our physician-led, mission-driven organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, value-based care for seniors. As a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to deliver affordable, high-quality care and improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations and provide leadership to primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) within the center.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, focusing on seniors with multiple chronic diseases and leveraging a holistic, value-based care approach.
- Manage a small patient panel (maximum 60-90 patients) to ensure personalized attention and continuity of care.
- Implement evidence-based protocols and collaborate with in-house specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Promote holistic health services available at the clinic, such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition support.
- Participate in training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, Leadership Pathways, and Medical Economics to enhance leadership and operational skills.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives focused on medical economics, center financial performance, and sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in team management preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
