Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview

As we continue to transform care for those with the greatest need, we are seeking a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for our outpatient clinic in New Orleans, LA. This is a full-time opportunity designed for clinical leaders committed to making a positive impact and advancing their professional journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a primary care outpatient clinic, ensuring the delivery of value-based care to a senior patient panel.
- Supervise and mentor a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Manage a small patient panel, generally between 60-90 patients, focusing on seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
- Implement evidence-based clinical protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety, satisfaction, and quality.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
- Promote holistic health services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition as part of the clinic's offerings.
- Participate in leadership training programs, including Medical Director and Center Operations, PCP Black Belt Training, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Monitor and drive clinic performance, focusing on medical economics, center financial outcomes, and growth initiatives.
- Support patient transportation initiatives, ensuring accessibility for those requiring assistance to and from the clinic.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a closely related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
