Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) for a full-time position in New Orleans, LA. This role is designed for a board-certified or board-eligible physician with a passion for clinical leadership and a commitment to delivering high-quality, value-based care to an underserved senior patient population. Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations for the primary care outpatient center, ensuring excellence in patient care and staff performance in New Orleans, LA.
- Oversee and manage a small patient panel, maintaining a maximum of 60-90 patients to ensure personalized attention and thorough care.
- Supervise a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Provide clinical expertise and participate in direct patient care, focusing primarily on seniors with chronic diseases in a value-based care model.
- Implement evidence-based practices and contribute to the development of innovative programs in holistic health, including acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition services.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists such as cardiologists and podiatrists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in ongoing leadership and operational training, including PCP Black Belt Training, Center Operations, and Medical Economics.
- Monitor and analyze center financial performance, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote organizational mission and participate in programs focused on sales, growth, and community outreach.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
