Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) to join our physician-led and mission-driven outpatient organization in Cincinnati, OH. This full-time leadership role is central to our commitment to delivering comprehensive and value-based healthcare for senior patients. As a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), you will play a pivotal role in guiding clinical operations and ensuring high-quality patient care within our established outpatient center.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) to deliver outstanding care to a panel of senior patients, primarily those managing multiple chronic conditions.
- Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure patient care meets organizational standards and medical best practices.
- Manage a small patient panel, typically ranging from 60-90 patients, to enable personalized and effective care.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Implement and support value-based care initiatives, focusing on improved patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.
- Participate in leadership training programs designed to enhance clinical management skills, center operations, and financial performance.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement, data review, and the adoption of best practices for geriatric populations.
- Promote the integration of holistic health services, such as acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition, into patient care plans.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards in clinical practice.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with specialization in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related field.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required, with leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed for clinical or operational purposes.
