Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) About the Role
This full-time Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) position is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible physician seeking a clinical leadership role in a primary care outpatient setting. Based in Cincinnati, OH, this position offers physicians the chance to make a meaningful impact on senior patient populations by guiding care teams and overseeing high-quality, value-based healthcare delivery. The Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s mission to provide affordable, VIP-level care for seniors, particularly those managing multiple chronic health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of primary care providers (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) within the clinic.
- Oversee clinical operations and ensure the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered care, primarily for seniors with 3-5 chronic diseases.
- Maintain a manageable patient panel with a maximum of 60-90 patients to ensure personalized and high-quality care.
- Implement and support value-based care models that focus on improved patient outcomes and cost-effective treatments.
- Participate in and complete Medical Director and Center Operations training, including PCP Black Belt Training, Leadership Pathways, and Medical Economics.
- Engage in leadership development programs and collaborate in the growth and expansion of the clinic’s services.
- Work in partnership with in-house consulting specialists in areas such as cardiology and podiatry, and support integration of holistic health services including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Utilize analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office to monitor clinical performance and outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required for training and clinic support.
