Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for a full-time position in Louisville, KY. This role is designed for a physician leader passionate about delivering high-quality outpatient primary care to the senior population. As part of a physician-led, mission-driven healthcare organization, the Medical Director will play an integral part in transforming care for patients with complex health needs, focusing on value-based care and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations within the primary care outpatient center, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality care to a panel of senior patients, typically with multiple chronic conditions.
- Lead and manage a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), providing mentorship, guidance, and performance oversight to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Implement and monitor value-based care initiatives, focusing on improving health outcomes, patient satisfaction, and efficiency in care delivery.
- Participate actively in leadership development programs including PCP Black Belt Training, Center Operations, and Medical Economics to advance clinical and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in areas such as cardiology and podiatry, as well as holistic health practitioners offering services like acupuncture, Tai Chi, and nutrition counseling.
- Support the organization’s mission of honoring seniors by providing affordable, VIP care and advocating for patient-centered solutions, including door-to-door transportation services for patients in Louisville, KY.
- Monitor clinical quality metrics, financial performance, and contribute to the growth and development of the primary care practice.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for staff and patients alike.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a closely related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally within Louisville, KY, and occasionally regionally, as needed.
