Medical Director – Primary Care, MD/DO Position Overview
We are a mission-driven, physician-led primary care organization seeking an experienced Medical Director – Primary Care, MD/DO for a full-time outpatient leadership role. The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine, and have a passion for providing high-quality care to seniors with complex health needs. This position offers an opportunity to lead clinical teams and make a significant impact on patient outcomes in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinical operations of the primary care outpatient center, ensuring delivery of high-quality, value-based care to a senior patient population.
- Manage and mentor a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), fostering clinical excellence and professional growth.
- Supervise care for a small patient panel, focusing on seniors managing 3-5 chronic diseases, and promote individualized treatment plans that prioritize patient well-being and preventive care.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to ensure comprehensive, coordinated patient care.
- Champion holistic health services including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition within the clinic setting.
- Lead, participate in, and benefit from clinical and leadership development programs, such as PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, and Leadership Pathways, to enhance your skills in medical economics, center financial performance, and operations.
- Promote patient-centered care and support innovative transportation solutions to improve access for seniors, enhancing overall patient satisfaction and health outcomes.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family medicine setting; prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills to manage clinical teams and drive positive change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally, with occasional regional travel as needed.
