Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
Our physician-led, mission-driven primary care organization is seeking a dedicated Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) to lead an outpatient clinic in Orlando, FL. As a key clinical leader, you will be instrumental in transforming the delivery of healthcare to a senior patient population and supporting the organization's goal of providing accessible, high-quality primary care services. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative environment focused on value-based care, innovative patient services, and comprehensive care management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the daily clinical operations of the primary care center, ensuring high standards of patient care and compliance with best practices.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Manage a small patient panel, with a focus on seniors managing multiple chronic conditions, to deliver personalized and coordinated care.
- Implement and support value-based care initiatives to improve patient outcomes and optimize healthcare resources.
- Participate in organizational training programs such as PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, and Medical Director Leadership Pathways to enhance leadership and operational skills.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including cardiology and podiatry, to provide holistic and integrated health services for patients.
- Engage with the clinical team in the development and execution of medical economics strategies and center financial performance goals.
- Promote the organization's mission to deliver affordable, VIP-level care to the senior community in Orlando, FL.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric or primary care setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required.
