Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Job Overview
Our organization is seeking a dedicated Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for a full-time position in Columbus, OH. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all clinical operations within the primary care center, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Manage and support a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), fostering professional development and collaboration.
- Maintain a small patient panel, with a maximum of 60-90 patients, focusing on seniors with multiple chronic conditions to ensure personalized and comprehensive care.
- Implement and promote value-based care models, enhancing patient outcomes while optimizing clinical efficiency.
- Utilize training in PCP Black Belt Training and Essentials to drive center performance and quality improvements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development programs, including Medical Director and Center Operations, Leadership Pathways, and Medical Economics.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in fields such as cardiology and podiatry to deliver holistic health services, including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutritional counseling.
- Support the growth and development of the center through involvement in sales, growth initiatives, and community outreach.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and participate in financial performance reviews of the center.
- Contribute to a patient-centered culture by ensuring seamless access to care, including the provision of door-to-door transportation services for eligible patients.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a primary care, geriatric, or family practice setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred, with strong skills in team management, communication, and clinical decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with electronic health records and related technologies.
- Ability to travel locally within the assigned area and occasionally regionally as needed.
