Medical Director, Primary Care Position Overview
This full-time Medical Director, Primary Care position offers a unique leadership opportunity within a physician-led, mission-driven healthcare organization committed to transforming care for seniors. Based in Columbus, OH, the Medical Director, Primary Care leads a dedicated outpatient team focused on delivering high-quality, value-based healthcare to a senior patient population with complex needs. Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for a primary care outpatient clinic, ensuring the highest standards of patient care for seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
- Supervise and mentor Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to foster professional development and clinical excellence.
- Manage a small patient panel to ensure personalized care, focusing on building strong patient-provider relationships and improving health outcomes.
- Implement and promote value-based care initiatives that improve patient health while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Participate in and lead training programs such as PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, and the Leadership Pathways Program to enhance clinical and operational skills.
- Oversee center operations, including medical economics and financial performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in fields such as cardiology and podiatry to provide comprehensive, holistic healthcare services.
- Support clinic growth and patient engagement initiatives, including community outreach and service expansion.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required; prior leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to guide and motivate clinical teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed for clinic support and training.
Training and Development
- Comprehensive training programs in leadership, clinical management, and practice operations, including Medical Director and Center Operations, Medical Economics, and Sales and Growth strategies.
Clinic Features
