Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview

To achieve this mission, we are seeking a highly qualified Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO), to lead our outpatient center in New Orleans, LA. This is a full-time leadership opportunity for an experienced physician who is passionate about value-based care and committed to making a meaningful difference in the community.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a dedicated team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to provide comprehensive care to a small patient panel, focusing on seniors with multiple chronic conditions.
- Oversee clinical operations of the primary care outpatient center, ensuring high-quality, value-based care delivery.
- Implement and monitor clinical protocols and best practices to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Participate in ongoing leadership development and training programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance medical economics and center financial performance.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and patient-centered care among all clinical staff.
- Engage in community outreach and support initiatives that align with the organization's mission and values.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in areas such as cardiology and podiatry, and integrate holistic health services like acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition into patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a closely related specialty.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; leadership experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
