Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) – New Orleans, LA – Full-time
As a Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) in New Orleans, LA, you will play a key leadership role within a mission-driven primary care organization dedicated to transforming the health and well-being of seniors. This full-time position is ideal for experienced physicians who are passionate about value-based care and eager to lead a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse geriatric population.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee clinical operations within the primary care outpatient center, ensuring delivery of exceptional care to senior patients.
- Manage and mentor a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Oversee a small patient panel of 60-90 seniors, focusing on individuals managing multiple chronic conditions and complex health needs.
- Implement and champion value-based care models to achieve improved patient outcomes and overall health system efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing leadership and professional development programs, including PCP Black Belt Training, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists, including Cardiology and Podiatry, to provide comprehensive, integrated care.
- Support holistic health services available at the clinic, such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Contribute to the financial and operational performance of the center, with training in medical economics and center financial management.
- Participate in initiatives to grow and expand patient services, including community outreach and patient engagement strategies.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop clinical teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required for the role.
