Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) to lead our outpatient clinic in Cincinnati, OH. This full-time leadership role is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible physician with expertise in Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine (FM), or Geriatric Medicine who is passionate about delivering high-quality, value-based care to senior patients. Our organization is physician-led and mission-driven, focused on providing affordable, VIP care that supports the health and well-being of the neediest populations, especially seniors managing multiple chronic diseases. As a Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO), you will play a key role in transforming primary care delivery and mentoring clinical teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the primary care outpatient clinic in Cincinnati, OH, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Supervise and provide support to a team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs), fostering a collaborative and innovative clinical environment.
- Oversee a small patient panel (60-90 patients maximum), focusing on seniors with complex health needs, including 3-5 chronic diseases per patient.
- Implement and oversee value-based care models, prioritizing preventive care, chronic disease management, and holistic health strategies.
- Participate in and complete comprehensive training programs including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, Medical Director and Center Operations, Leadership Pathways Program, and Medical Economics.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists such as cardiologists and podiatrists, as well as holistic health service providers (e.g., acupuncture, nutrition, Tai Chi, and yoga instructors).
- Engage in center financial performance initiatives, sales, and growth strategies to ensure continued success of the outpatient clinic in Cincinnati, OH.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and uphold the organization’s mission and values in all aspects of clinical leadership.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a passion for mentoring and developing clinical staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as required for the role.
