Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director, Primary Care (MD/DO) for an outpatient clinic in St. Louis, MO. This full-time leadership role is central to our mission-driven, physician-led organization, which is committed to delivering high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive care to senior patients. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinical operations of the outpatient primary care center in St. Louis, MO, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and other clinical staff.
- Maintain a small patient panel, typically 60-90 seniors, focusing on holistic management of patients with multiple chronic diseases.
- Implement value-based care initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic performance.
- Coordinate with consulting specialists such as cardiology and podiatry to provide comprehensive in-house services.
- Oversee and support the delivery of holistic health services, including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling, within the clinic.
- Participate in and facilitate ongoing professional development, including PCP Black Belt Training, leadership pathways programs, and operational training for center management.
- Monitor clinic financial performance and participate in growth and sales strategies to expand patient reach and improve service quality.
- Foster a positive work environment, supporting work/life balance and continuous learning for all staff members.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse clinical team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally, as needed.
