Medical Director, Primary Care Overview

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a clinical team of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) within the primary care center.
- Oversee a small patient panel, averaging 60-90 patients, primarily seniors managing three to five chronic conditions.
- Guide the delivery of value-based care and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and patient satisfaction standards.
- Participate in and complete comprehensive Medical Director training, including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, and Leadership Pathways programs.
- Monitor and support the financial and operational performance of the center, working closely with center operations staff.
- Engage with medical economics and center growth initiatives, contributing to ongoing improvement in patient care delivery and organizational effectiveness.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive environment for providers and staff, promoting professional development and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists in cardiology, podiatry, and other disciplines to deliver holistic care.
- Champion holistic health services for patients, including acupuncture, tai chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
