Medical Director, Primary Care Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Medical Director, Primary Care to provide clinical leadership at our primary care center. The Medical Director, Primary Care role is designed for individuals with a passion for leadership, clinical excellence, and service to the community. This is a full-time opportunity based in Fort Myers, FL.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary clinical team, including primary care physicians (PCPs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
- Oversee clinical operations, guiding the implementation of value-based care models and supporting the holistic health needs of a senior patient panel.
- Direct patient care for a small panel of seniors, typically managing patients with multiple chronic conditions.
- Participate in the ongoing education and training of clinical staff, including PCP Black Belt Training, PCP Essentials, Medical Director and Center Operations, and Leadership Pathways Program.
- Monitor and improve center financial performance, collaborating with the operations team to achieve organizational goals.
- Support growth initiatives through clinical leadership and participation in medical economics and sales strategies.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and patient-focused culture within the primary care center.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a geriatric or family practice setting is required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including prior experience managing clinical teams or supervising healthcare providers.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally as needed.
