Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (CPC, CCS, CBCS) Position OverviewG&G Healthcare, an established outpatient primary care medical practice, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (CPC, CCS, CBCS) to join our dedicated team on a full-time basis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate billing, optimal reimbursement, and regulatory compliance within our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Review patient encounters and associated charges to ensure accurate and compliant medical coding in accordance with the latest industry standards and guidelines.
- Submit billing information and related data to insurance providers, ensuring timely and accurate claims processing.
- Post charges and complete claims submissions to various healthcare payers, adhering to set deadlines to maintain efficient cash flow.
- Evaluate and resolve claims denials, working collaboratively to maximize reimbursement for services rendered by the practice.
- Implement, maintain, and generate reports on practice-initiated billing and coding programs to support operational effectiveness and compliance.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) received from insurance companies, interpreting and applying this information to resolve discrepancies and post payments.
- Accurately perform payment posting activities, reconciling patient accounts and ensuring financial records are up to date.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding roles within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Allscripts or Veradigm is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
