Medical Biller and Coder Job OverviewAccess Healthcare Multi-Specialty Group (AHMG) is seeking a dedicated Medical Biller and Coder to join our central office team. This full-time position plays an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing and coding processes, supporting our commitment to providing exceptional patient care and administrative excellence. As a vital member of our healthcare administrative team, you will help streamline insurance claims, contribute to effective revenue cycle management, and support collaborative clinical operations.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage daily organization and follow-up on insurance-related duties, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Compile and maintain insurance documents, both electronic and paper-based, to facilitate seamless billing operations.
- Process electronic and paper billing of insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate submission to payers.
- Post payments received from insurance providers, patients, and other sources, ensuring correct allocation and record-keeping.
- Conduct continual follow-up on denied, rejected, or missing insurance claims, working to resolve discrepancies and secure appropriate reimbursement.
- Perform essential clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing administrative support to the team as needed.
- Completion of a Medical Billing Certificate program is required.
- Experience with diagnosis and CPT coding, including implementation and billing for multiple provider types under the same Tax ID/NPI, is essential.
- Proficiency in Medicare billing processes is required.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a dynamic office environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve billing and coding issues.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, contributing positively to office culture.
The Medical Biller and Coder will work in an open office setting characterized by a collaborative team environment and a positive office culture. AHMG is committed to supporting work/life balance, offering a friendly and supportive atmosphere where your skills and contributions are valued. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15am to 5:00pm, with 1-2 late evenings required per week. No weekend work is expected for this full-time position.
