Medical Assistant (MA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Full-time
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medical Assistant (MA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a family medicine setting. This full-time position provides the opportunity to support physicians and enhance patient experiences while upholding the highest standards of clinical practice and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and room patients efficiently, ensuring a comfortable and professional environment.
- Accurately measure and record comprehensive vital signs and detailed medical histories for each patient.
- Review current medications and allergies with patients, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
- Prepare patients for examination and assist with necessary pre-examination tasks.
- Obtain laboratory specimens, including performing venipuncture as ordered by the physician, following strict clinical protocols.
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Obtain X-rays as ordered by the physician, adhering to all safety and procedural guidelines.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and manage outgoing referrals efficiently to support continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide clear instructions and compassionate care.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Clean and restock exam rooms to ensure they are ready for use at all times.
- Sterilize medical instruments following OSHA standards to promote a safe clinical environment.
- Assist physicians with medical procedures and exams as needed, ensuring all necessary supplies are available and ready.
- Conduct visit preparation for scheduled patients to streamline clinic flow and enhance care delivery.
- Demonstrate compliance with HIPAA and OSHA requirements at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a healthcare or medical office environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical office systems, procedures, and clinical best practices.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, supporting professional patient and team interactions.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Proficiency with MS Office and patient management software to accurately document and manage patient information.
