Medical Assistant (MA) - Summary
- Full-time role supporting clinical and administrative functions in a healthcare setting

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available prior to patient appointments
- Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers according to established protocols
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry
- Document patient medical history, medication lists, chief complaints, allergies, and current health information accurately in patient records
- Support providers during diagnostic procedures and clinical assessments as ordered
- Maintain inventory and cleanliness of examination rooms, ensuring a safe and efficient clinical environment
- Complete laboratory and radiology requisitions in compliance with clinic policies
- Accurately enter demographic and visit-related data into computer systems during patient registration and discharge
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering telephones, transcribing messages, assisting with scheduling, and making appointment reminder calls (with administrative responsibilities comprising no more than 20% of total duties)
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors to support clinic operations

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, CCBMA, ACCSC, ACICS, ACCET, or ACCJC) or completion of a formal medical services training program in the United States Armed Forces
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be in-person training; web-based courses are not accepted)
- US Citizenship required
