Key Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy: Perform blood draws accurately and safely, prioritizing patient comfort and adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.
- EKG: Administer electrocardiograms (EKG) to monitor cardiac activity, ensure proper placement of leads, and promptly report findings to the supervising physician.
- Spirometry: Conduct spirometry tests to evaluate lung function, guiding patients through preparation and test procedures for reliable results.
- Patient Support: Provide thorough assistance to patients before, during, and after medical procedures, ensuring they are informed and comfortable throughout their visit.
- Clinical Tasks: Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms, sterilize medical equipment, and offer support to physicians and nurses as needed to facilitate seamless patient care.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document all patient information, test outcomes, and clinical data within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, upholding high standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care and contribute to positive clinical outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (MA) credential is required.
- Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy, EKG, and spirometry procedures.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology, clinical protocols, and healthcare practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced medical office or clinic setting.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate and organized patient records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or Arabic are advantageous.
