Shalom Medical is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic healthcare team on a full-time basis. As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will play a crucial role in supporting our physicians and enhancing the patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities
- Record and document vital signs and medication information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.
- Prepare, clean, and disinfect all patient exam and procedure rooms in accordance with established infection control policies.
- Greet and check in patients, maintaining a welcoming and organized front desk experience.
- Assist with patient preparation, including helping patients transfer to and from exam tables as needed to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Support physicians during medical procedures and examinations by providing necessary instruments and assisting with patient positioning.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed healthcare providers, adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage supply inventories and ensure that exam and procedure rooms are fully stocked and organized for daily operations.
- Collect and process urine specimens for analysis, culture, and cytology tests, following proper handling and documentation procedures.
- Sterilize medical equipment to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Handle medication pre-authorization requests from pharmacies, coordinating with healthcare providers as necessary.
- Receive incoming patient calls, triage concerns appropriately, and relay information to relevant team members to ensure prompt follow-up.
- Perform timely closure of work within the EMR system, including retrieving and filing lab results, reports, and documentation for physician review.
- Review upcoming patient schedules in advance to verify the receipt of laboratory results and other reports, supporting efficient appointment preparation.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout an 8-hour workday without physical limitations.
- Strong multitasking abilities to manage a busy office environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on detailed follow-up and completion of assigned tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to provide compassionate care and collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
