As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a clinical environment. This full-time position provides direct support to physicians and physician assistants, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the patient care process. The Medical Assistant (MA) position is essential for maintaining clinical standards and supporting the overall patient experience at our healthcare facility. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and room patients, accurately recording vital signs and preparing them for examination.
- Assist the physician or physician assistant during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Perform clinical tasks, including blood draws, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests, according to established protocols.
- Administer prescribed injections and medications under appropriate supervision.
- Provide patient education on medications, testing procedures, and follow-up instructions to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date patient schedules, coordinating with physicians and clinical staff to support seamless patient care.
- Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
- Monitor and report abnormal laboratory results or vital signs to the supervising physician promptly.
- Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of medical equipment, ensuring all tools are functional and safe for use.
- Manage inventory by ordering and restocking medical supplies as needed, and responsibly discarding expired medications.
- Support the team by assisting other staff members as required, fostering a cooperative and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program or equivalent extensive on-the-job training in a clinical setting.
Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in taking and recording vital signs, performing blood draws, and conducting various clinical tests.
- Competence in administering injections and medications safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and healthcare best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
