Clifton Centreville Medical Associates is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant (MA) for a full-time, in-person role at our busy Family/Internal Medicine clinic. The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in supporting clinic operations and delivering high-quality patient care in a professional healthcare environment. Responsibilities
- Patient Care: The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for triaging and admitting patients, preparing them for examinations, and assisting physicians during exams. Duties include administering medications and injections as directed by the physician, performing EKGs, and completing additional clinical tasks as needed.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with clear information regarding treatments and medications. Respond to patient inquiries, address concerns, and serve as a liaison between patients, the clinic team, and other healthcare providers.
- Clinical Procedures: Ensure that examination rooms are properly set up and maintained in a clean and sterile condition. Perform routine tests, collect vital signs, and report results accurately in accordance with practice protocols.
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): Document patient information thoroughly and accurately in the EHR system. Maintain up-to-date patient records, adhere to HIPAA guidelines, and efficiently manage patient documentation to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a medical practice or clinical setting is essential for the Medical Assistant (MA) role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work diligently with a welcoming, patient-focused attitude.
- Associates degree or higher education preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Solid medical knowledge, including understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Proficiency in obtaining patient vital signs and assisting physicians during examinations.
- Ability to educate patients and potential patients about primary care and clinical services.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and general computer software relevant to healthcare settings.
- BLS Certification preferred; CPR Certification is also valued.
