Medical Assistant (MA) Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our adult primary care and internal medicine practice. This is a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in providing essential clinical and administrative support in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant (MA) will play a key role in ensuring a seamless patient experience, supporting physicians and medical staff, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the practice. This position is available as either full-time or part-time employment, depending on candidate availability and practice needs.
Key Responsibilities- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for their appointments by obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient information.
- Assist with the scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring timely and accurate coordination of care.
- Complete medical referrals and authorizations as directed by physicians, adhering to established protocols and timelines.
- Document patient histories, observations, and other relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms and medical equipment, following infection control and safety guidelines.
- Perform clinical tasks such as administering injections and conducting electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Replenish medical supplies in exam rooms to support uninterrupted patient care.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate and utilize electronic medical record systems.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills, ensuring a positive and respectful patient experience at all times.
- Medical specialty focus is adult primary care and internal medicine, offering opportunities to gain valuable experience in these areas.
- Schedule typically runs Monday through Thursday, with both part-time and full-time employment options available to accommodate different needs.
- This position requires in-person attendance to provide comprehensive hands-on support to patients and medical staff.
