Medical Assistant (MA) - Full-time Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join a busy Internal Medicine practice in Baltimore County, Maryland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic healthcare team within a clinic and outpatient setting. As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will play a critical role in supporting physicians, ensuring smooth daily operations, and providing excellent patient care in a private practice environment.
Responsibilities- Answering incoming phone calls and directing inquiries appropriately to maintain effective communication within the clinic.
- Verifying patient insurance information to ensure accurate billing and seamless patient visits.
- Taking and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, to assist providers in patient assessment.
- Performing EKGs as required for patient diagnostics in the internal medicine specialty.
- Administering vaccinations and documenting them according to clinical protocols.
- Handling administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and maintaining patient records with attention to confidentiality and accuracy.
- Drawing blood and preparing samples for laboratory analysis while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Collaborating closely with healthcare providers and fellow staff members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Preferred minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a healthcare or clinical environment.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and team members.
- Demonstrated capability to maintain a pleasant attitude and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt to a fast-paced setting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (Certified Medical Assistant – CMA) is preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to Baltimore County, Maryland, are essential for this full-time role.
