We are actively seeking a qualified Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic primary care practice. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical operations and patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate and detailed health records to ensure efficient patient visits and continuity of care.
- Obtain clinical data from patients, such as blood pressure, weight, temperature, and other vital signs, in accordance with standard medical protocols.
- Inform patients of normal laboratory and diagnostic test results, ensuring clear communication and confidentiality at all times.
- Assist providers with prescription refills, including accurate documentation and communication with pharmacies as needed.
- Schedule patient appointments, coordinate outreach activities, and respond to patient inquiries via phone in a courteous and professional manner.
- Take detailed patient history summaries and report pertinent information to the healthcare provider to inform clinical decision-making.
- Follow up with patients regarding ongoing care, treatment plans, and any necessary post-visit instructions.
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness, proper supply levels, and readiness for patient visits.
- Order laboratory tests as directed by providers and ensure timely sample collection and processing.
- Administer injections and immunizations under provider supervision, following established safety procedures.
- Educate patients about common medical procedures, assist during basic examinations, and provide support to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- Utilize Accountable Care Organization (ACO) tools to assist patients in accessing high-value healthcare resources, promoting optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) program or equivalent training is preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology, and patient care standards.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing health records and patient information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and staff.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced primary care setting.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills is an advantage.
