Medical Assistant (MA) Position OverviewWe are actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our primary care team in a full-time, in-person capacity. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring a positive experience for patients. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about patient care, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are eager to apply their clinical and administrative skills in the medical field. Key Responsibilities- Obtain and document accurate patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and readiness for procedures.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Perform basic laboratory tests as directed, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of results.
- Administer vaccinations and immunizations under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider.
- Conduct phlebotomy and accurately collect blood samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and ensure proper documentation of results.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked examination and treatment area.
- Support front office administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, answering phones, and managing electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- At least one year of experience in medical assisting or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize patient care responsibilities.
- Solid understanding of general medical procedures and protocols.
