Medical Assistant (MA) Position Overview
Mount Laurel Primary Care Physicians is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support our healthcare team in a full-time role. The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital part in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of both clinical and administrative functions within our primary care practice. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a dynamic environment where they will contribute to both patient care and daily office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient triage, including gathering and recording vital signs to assist healthcare providers in delivering effective care.
- Conduct routine EKGs to support the diagnostic needs of the practice.
- Administer immunizations and injections as directed by clinical protocols.
- Assist with basic medical procedures, including ear lavage and minor wound care, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Participate in extended physical testing such as hearing and vision assessments, as well as performing ankle-brachial index ultrasounds. Comprehensive training will be provided for these specialized tasks.
- Maintain and stock patient exam rooms and laboratory areas to ensure a clean and organized environment for both patients and staff.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, and completing essential clerical tasks to facilitate smooth office operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Medical Assistant (MA) program.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and best practices in clinical care.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and an ability to maintain accurate patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a flexible hourly schedule. The Medical Assistant (MA) should be available for extended work hours as needed to support the needs of the practice and ensure optimal patient care.
