Southern Delaware Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (CCMA) to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Medical Assistant (CCMA), you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support both clinical and administrative operations. This essential role ensures smooth workflow and quality patient care throughout our facility, helping to advance the health and well-being of the community we serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients by offering information, services, and support throughout their healthcare experience.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of medical supplies, ensuring all necessary items are available and in optimal condition.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure reliable operation and safety.
- Interview patients to verify and document their medical history, ensuring accurate records and confirming the purpose of each visit.
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary physical assessments, such as measuring blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting relevant patient history to clinical staff.
- Safeguard patient information by accurately completing and protecting medical records, performing diagnostic and procedure coding, and upholding patient confidentiality at all times.
- Promote a secure, safe, and healthy environment by adhering to established standards, procedures, and compliance with legal regulations.
- Monitor and maintain medical supply levels, place orders as necessary, and verify receipt of supplies.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment by following detailed instructions, troubleshooting issues, and arranging repairs when required.
- Stay current with developments in the medical field by participating in educational opportunities and reviewing professional publications as part of ongoing job knowledge development.
- Adhere to professional standards, facility policies, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations to support the practice’s quality of care and reputation.
- Take ownership of new responsibilities and proactively seek opportunities to improve service and add value to the medical team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills with patients and healthcare team members.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate compassionate bedside manner and a commitment to effective medical teamwork.
Education and Certification Requirements
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential required.
Work Hours and Benefits
This is a full-time Medical Assistant (CCMA) position with office hours from Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. No weekend shifts are required.
