Mechanical Project Manager Position Overview
The Mechanical Project Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, and process construction projects. Operating in a full-time capacity in Denver, CO, the Mechanical Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients and is tasked with ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specified quality standards. This role involves managing client relationships, coordinating field labor, mentoring project staff, and utilizing technical expertise to drive project success from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead all project management functions, including concept engineering, estimating, proposal development, and direct client meetings, to ensure the successful completion of HVAC and plumbing projects.
- Act as the single source of accountability for clients, fostering strong client relationships and maintaining open lines of communication throughout each project.
- Manage contracts through all phases, including sales, procurement, and execution, with diligent oversight of field labor and installation sequencing.
- Provide ongoing mentorship to project engineers and project coordinators, supporting their professional development and contributing to overall team growth.
- Develop and maintain a client base through proactive business development strategies and participation in industry organizations.
- Forecast and manage project budgets, control costs within agreed-upon limits, and ensure accurate billing and job cost tracking.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, purchasing, accounting, construction, and service to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Lead and participate in client meetings, negotiate contracts, and facilitate pre-construction meetings with department heads and supervisors.
- Support company initiatives by engaging in special studies, committees, and technical advancement projects as directed by upper management.
- Uphold company reputation by adhering to best practices for legal protection and sound business procedures in all written communications and project documentation.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in estimating, design, and/or management of HVAC projects, including experience managing projects ranging from $50,000 to over $100 million.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and autonomously, achieving goals set by supervisors.
- Proven integrity and a strong sense of ethical responsibility in all professional dealings.
- Experience developing new business and maintaining a strong presence in industry or community-based organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to high volumes of issues.
- Valid class "C" driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as business needs dictate.

Physical Requirements
