The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing mechanical construction projects from inception through completion. Based in Anaheim, CA, the Mechanical Project Manager will play a critical role in ensuring mechanical construction projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines and budgets, serving diverse sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, commercial, and industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of mechanical construction projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.
- Ensure all assigned field personnel adhere to rigorous safety standards and regulations throughout project duration.
- Monitor and optimize field labor productivity, maintaining a consistent focus on quality assurance and project coordination.
- Oversee project financials, including budget projections, cost reporting, and ensuring profitable project outcomes.
- Direct material and equipment procurement processes, collaborating with vendors and suppliers to meet project specifications and schedules.
- Administer change order management, ensuring all modifications are accurately documented and implemented.
- Maintain strong owner and client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for project updates and issue resolution.
- Manage project cash flow and ensure all billing and financial documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Supervise and mentor project team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring consistent adherence across all project activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and 5-7 years of relevant construction experience.
- Strong ability to perform and oversee each essential project management duty to a high standard of quality and efficiency.
- Demonstrated proficiency in business mathematics and project-related financial functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey project details to team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Superior organizational skills for handling, archiving, and accessing technical data and project documentation.
- Ability to interpret and act upon a variety of instructions delivered in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to work independently and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint), Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.
- Ability to utilize building information modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies to enhance project outcomes.
