The Mechanical Project Manager position is an integral role within the mechanical construction industry, responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing complex mechanical construction projects. The Mechanical Project Manager will lead projects across diverse markets such as healthcare, life sciences, commercial, and industrial sectors, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical construction projects from inception through completion, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure the safety of all field personnel and promote a culture of safety on every project site.
- Manage field labor productivity, ensuring that work is performed to the highest standards and within the established timelines.
- Oversee quality assurance and coordination to meet or exceed client expectations and project requirements.
- Monitor and report on project financial outcomes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Procure materials and equipment necessary for project execution, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Handle change order management, collaborating with clients and internal teams to address project modifications.
- Manage owner and client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring clear, consistent communication.
- Oversee project cash flow and financial reporting, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Supervise and mentor personnel, ensuring effective team management and development.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and executed plans.
- Be available during work hours to support and direct the activities of direct reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant construction work experience in mechanical project management.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions independently and effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Competence in performing basic business mathematics and managing project budgets.
- Experience in interpreting instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Strong organizational skills and experience in handling and archiving technical data.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Access, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software), and Quotesoft Estimating Software.
