Mechanical Project Manager - Summary
- Lead the successful delivery of mechanical and plumbing construction projects from planning through closeout.
- Serve as the main liaison between clients, superintendents, subcontractors, and internal staff.
- Oversee all stages of project management including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and quality assurance.
- Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships through clear communication and exceptional service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee project superintendents and provide direction on daily activities for assigned projects.
- Review and confirm project estimates, ensuring accuracy in job cost systems and initial budgets.
- Conduct pre-construction and ongoing planning meetings to align project teams with contract terms, schedules, and deliverables.
- Document meeting outcomes and ensure action items are tracked to completion.
- Develop, update, and manage detailed project schedules and personnel assignments.
- Facilitate procurement of necessary subcontractors and equipment to maintain project timelines and budget constraints.
- Perform regular site visits to observe progress, inspect work, and address contract issues or concerns.
- Investigate project challenges and implement corrective strategies as needed.
- Manage scope changes efficiently, ensuring all modifications are documented and reflected in project deliverables.
- Prepare material takeoffs, estimates, and pricing for work scope changes.
- Lead or participate in job meetings in accordance with company and client expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing construction projects, with renovation experience considered an asset.
- Proven ability to negotiate construction change orders and deliver effective project presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex project challenges.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and work from contractual documents, blueprints, schematic diagrams, and isometric drawings.
- Proficiency in job cost accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.
- Solid understanding of financial models for various contract types, such as fixed price, cost-plus, and unit rate/price contracting.
- Availability to provide on-call support as required, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to be present onsite daily to monitor progress, inspect work, and facilitate project meetings.
