Mechanical Assembler Job Overview
The Mechanical Assembler plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and production process by performing a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies and sub-assemblies. This full-time position requires attention to detail, adherence to established procedures, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Mechanical Assemblers are responsible for following specific methods and sequences of operations, including wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing, all while maintaining strict tolerances according to blueprint specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Execute a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks on assemblies or sub-assemblies, ensuring high standards of quality and precision.
- Follow detailed written instructions and formal procedures to perform tasks such as wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units.
- Perform repetitive tasks on an assembly line, maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout each stage of the process.
- Make necessary setups and adjustments to assembly operations, holding tolerances in alignment with blueprint and specification requirements.
- Lift or move materials, typically not exceeding 15 pounds, to support assembly processes and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with assigned work tasks, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in assembly operations.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and standard operating procedures to create a safe and compliant work environment.
- Be willing to work occasional overtime as needed to meet production deadlines and support team objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education is required for this Mechanical Assembler position.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, formal procedures, and assembly documentation.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail, especially when performing tasks such as hand soldering, wiring, and component installation.
- Physical ability to lift or move materials not typically exceeding 15 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills for accurate completion of paperwork and documentation related to assembly assignments.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime in support of production needs.
- Eligibility to work in an ITAR facility; applicant must be a US Citizen.
