As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for operating various manual machines such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders. You will work closely with production teams, including welders, fabricators, and engineers, to ensure timely delivery of precision components that meet strict quality standards. Manual Machinist - Summary
- Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to fabricate complex parts.
- Produce and finish components required for heat exchangers and industrial equipment, such as tubesheets, flanges, and baffles.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed work instructions.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up manual machining equipment and select appropriate tooling for each job.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances based on blueprints and work instructions.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure part accuracy.
- Maintain tight tolerances and uphold rigorous quality and safety standards for all produced parts.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines, ensuring optimal operation and minimizing downtime.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to 5S or similar methodologies.
- Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve machining challenges.
- Identify and resolve machining issues quickly to minimize material waste and ensure continuous production.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of technical training or machining certification preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience operating manual machining equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Experience with heat exchanger or pressure vessel components is a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
