Mammography Technologist (ARRT) Job Overview
Northwest Primary Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist (ARRT) to join our dedicated healthcare team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality digital Tomosynthesis mammography exams and ensuring optimal patient care and safety throughout each procedure. As a vital member of our radiology department, you will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging that supports the diagnostic process for our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality digital Tomosynthesis mammography exams for interpretation, adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Perform diagnostic studies as recommended by radiologists, ensuring completeness and accuracy of imaging procedures.
- Comply with all ARRT, ACR, and MQSA standards, demonstrating excellent patient positioning skills and maintaining thorough documentation.
- Keep current with continuing education requirements as mandated by ARRT, ACR, and MQSA to maintain professional licensure and certifications.
- Exercise independent judgment to ensure that mammographic images meet quality standards for diagnostic purposes.
- Apply appropriate safety measures to protect both patients and staff in accordance with industry guidelines and facility protocols.
- Deliver mammography services with compassion, minimizing patient discomfort and fostering a supportive environment.
- Document and report all incidents involving patients and employees using proper incident reporting procedures.
- Utilize sterile techniques during invasive procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Maintain adequate supplies in the work area and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Demonstrate responsibility for practicing safe work habits and adhering to facility safety policies.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance to support the consistent operation of the radiology department.
Qualifications
- Current license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging.
- Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Advanced certification in mammography required.
- Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Specialized training in mammography procedures and protocols.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to mammography.
- Understanding of safety hazards common to mammography and bone densitometry procedures.
- Proficiency in proper patient positioning and stabilization techniques for high-quality imaging.
- Ability to maintain effective, professional relationships with patients, radiologists, medical staff, and the public.
