By managing freight shipments, the Logistics Coordinator ensures that all transport activities are carried out in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. In addition, the Logistics Coordinator is tasked with tracking shipments, monitoring estimated time of arrivals (ETAs), and providing regular updates to all stakeholders. The position also involves resolving any service issues or shipment delays, verifying carrier compliance, and assisting with invoicing and billing activities.
The Logistics Coordinator must be adept at handling a variety of freight types, including dry van, flatbed, drayage, hotshot, oversized, and specialized loads. This requires a thorough understanding of transportation modes and the ability to adapt to different logistical challenges. Logistics Coordinator - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipments from pickup to final delivery, including scheduling and dispatching drivers.
- Source and secure qualified carriers; negotiate competitive freight rates to optimize cost efficiency.
- Track shipments using Transportation Management Systems and monitor ETAs to ensure timely deliveries.
- Provide regular updates to customers and internal teams regarding shipment status and any potential delays.
- Resolve service issues, shipment delays, and address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Verify carrier compliance, including insurance coverage and operating authority.
- Maintain accurate and organized shipment records, including bills of lading, proof of delivery documents, invoices, and rate confirmations.
- Assist with reviewing carrier invoices and contribute to customer billing processes.
- Coordinate logistics for various freight types, such as flatbed, drayage, port operations, and warehouse logistics.
- Participate in rotating after-hours and weekend on-call schedules to support business continuity.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, transportation, dispatching, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating carrier rates and coordinating complex freight shipments.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and professional email communication.
- Familiarity with TMS platforms, as well as DAT, Truckstop, or similar industry tools (preferred but not required).
- Background in flatbed, drayage, port operations, or warehouse logistics is highly valued.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate seamless interactions with stakeholders.
