Licensing Manager Job OverviewIDR is seeking a Licensing Manager for a contract opportunity with the potential for extension. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days onsite and two days remote, in Brentwood, TN. The Licensing Manager role is central to ensuring that the organization's licensing processes and regulatory compliance are maintained at the highest standard. This is a dynamic opportunity for professionals experienced in licensing, compliance, or related fields to contribute their expertise in a corporate setting.
Responsibilities- Meet regularly with licensing staff to monitor departmental workflow, identify opportunities for process efficiency, and help distribute workloads equitably.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to research, develop, and implement procedures that support the organization’s compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct critical and time-sensitive research on federal, state, and local statutes and regulations to determine license and permit requirements and recommend courses of action that ensure ongoing compliance.
- Train and develop staff by sharing best practices and promoting adherence to both new and existing regulations, supporting the company’s long-term compliance efforts.
- Prepare for and lead meetings with staff and other business partners to communicate updates, share information, and coordinate licensing activities.
- Review all licensing paperwork and check requests prior to final approval to ensure licenses are renewed accurately and on time.
- Conduct monthly reviews of department activities, general ledger entries, re-class paperwork, and key account reconciliations. Communicate any budget variances or inconsistent trends to management and support staff development in monthly reporting requirements.
- At least 7 years of experience in a corporate environment with direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong research capabilities with an ability to investigate issues, assess alternative courses of action, and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (with V-Lookups) and Word.
- Background in business licensing, law, paralegal work, project management, or a related field.
- Experience working in a law firm or with legal procedures is highly valued.
