Sutherland Family Practice Inc is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) for a full-time position in our primary care practice. This role is essential in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) will play a vital role in both clinical and administrative functions, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our family practice.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate health records in accordance with established protocols.
- Obtain clinical data from patients and their historians, ensuring all information is documented correctly.
- Communicate normal laboratory and test results to patients clearly and professionally.
- Handle prescription refill requests, schedule patient appointments, conduct patient outreach, and answer phone inquiries as required.
- Triage patients according to clinical urgency and established guidelines to support optimal patient care.
- Collect and process laboratory test samples and perform waived lab testing procedures.
- Maintain and update patient records, following up with patients as necessary to support continuity of care.
- Prepare examination rooms and order laboratory tests as directed by healthcare providers.
- Administer injections and immunizations in accordance with medical protocols and patient needs.
- Explain common medical procedures to patients and assist healthcare providers during basic examinations.
- Utilize Accountable Care Organization (ACO) tools to help patients access high-value healthcare resources and services.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology to ensure accurate communication and documentation.
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Strong customer service skills and a compassionate bedside manner to support positive patient interactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to facilitate accurate and clear information exchange.
