Licensed Insurance Customer Service Representative Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Licensed Insurance Customer Service Representative to join a reputable insurance agency in Baton Rouge, LA. This full-time, in-office position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to existing and prospective insurance clients. The ideal candidate will possess an active Property and Casualty Insurance license and/or a Life and Health Insurance license, as well as prior experience working in an insurance agency environment. As a key member of our team, you will be integral in building strong customer relationships, providing valuable insurance guidance, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming phone calls and greet clients professionally, addressing their questions and concerns promptly.
- Establish and maintain positive customer relationships, following up as needed to ensure client satisfaction.
- Deliver accurate and friendly customer service, including responding to inquiries about insurance availability, eligibility, coverage options, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing questions.
- Utilize a needs-based review process to educate customers about suitable insurance options based on their specific requirements.
- Support clients throughout the insurance process, providing guidance and solutions to meet their needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service and customer support.
- Provide timely and thorough activity reports to the agent to support agency operations.
- Remain current with product changes, licensing requirements, technical developments, and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty and/or Life and Health insurance license required.
- Previous experience working in an insurance office setting is essential.
- Ability to work in-office in Baton Rouge, LA from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on a full-time basis.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- People-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated dedication to providing outstanding customer service.
- Comfortable learning and using computer functions and agency management systems.
