Licensed Insurance Customer Service Representative Position Overview
The Licensed Insurance Customer Service Representative plays a pivotal role within an insurance agency, serving as the primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance with their insurance needs. This full-time position requires active Property and Casualty as well as Life and Health licenses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach, ensuring that every interaction is handled with professionalism and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, following up as needed to address concerns and provide ongoing support.
- Deliver prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service by responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, policy coverages, changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarifications.
- Utilize a needs-based review process to educate customers on the various insurance options available, assisting them in making informed decisions based on their unique situations.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to success in all daily activities, striving for excellence in customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
- Provide timely and thorough activity reports to the supervising agent, ensuring all client records and communications are accurately documented.
- Remain current on product changes, licensing requirements, technical developments, and continuing education to uphold the highest standards of service and compliance.
Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty license (required).
- Active Life and Health license (required).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of insurance customer service experience, preferably with State Farm or a comparable company (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening abilities.
- Demonstrated people-oriented attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and a dedication to delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to learn and utilize relevant computer functions and software applications.
- Pride in completing work accurately and on time.
