Lathe Operator - Summary- Operate lathe machines to shape, cut, drill, sand, and thread raw materials into finished parts according to detailed specifications.
- Set up machinery, monitor operations, and ensure equipment is maintained and operating safely.
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify part accuracy and quality throughout the production process.
- Work collaboratively with other production team members to meet daily targets and uphold high standards of workmanship.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and adherence to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Prepare and set up lathe equipment prior to production runs.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Perform cutting, drilling, threading, and sanding operations on various materials as required.
- Continuously monitor product quality using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of all assigned machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
- Record production data and report any equipment issues or non-conformities to supervisors promptly.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when necessary.
