Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) - Summary- Provide direct patient care and clinical support to mothers in labor, during delivery, and postpartum.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients and newborns.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor vital signs of mothers and newborns, assessing fetal heart rates and uterine contractions.
- Assist with labor support, delivery procedures, and immediate postpartum care for mother and infant.
- Administer medications and IVs as prescribed, including pain management and epidurals under physician direction.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse midwives, anesthesiologists, and support staff.
- Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards of care.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all patients and families.
