We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our full-service, scratch kitchen steakhouse. As a Kitchen Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality dining experiences, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring all culinary standards are met. Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee all aspects of kitchen functions including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Ensure that each dish meets rigorous quality standards, is presented attractively, and is delivered to guests in a timely manner. Maintain strict adherence to established recipes and portion sizes to guarantee a consistent dining experience.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and support a team of chefs, cooks, and prep staff. Cultivate a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and ongoing professional development. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to enhance staff skills and foster a collaborative kitchen culture.
- Food Quality and Safety: Uphold the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and visual presentation. Implement and monitor compliance with food safety protocols and sanitation regulations. Conduct regular inspections of kitchen operations and promptly address any issues to ensure continued compliance with health codes.
- Inventory and Cost Control: Oversee inventory management, order supplies, and monitor stock levels to reduce waste. Implement effective portion control and collaborate with management on budget planning and cost control strategies to maximize kitchen efficiency and profitability.
- Staff Training and Development: Provide ongoing training on proper cooking techniques, plating standards, and adherence to recipes. Encourage continuous learning and skill improvements among team members to maintain high operational standards.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all kitchen activities comply with established health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to compliance and training.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or Culinary Manager in a scratch kitchen restaurant environment.
- Strong culinary background with proven expertise in kitchen operations.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and inspire a diverse kitchen team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting with a focus on delivering quality results.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management and cost control techniques.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.
