IT Trainer and Instructional Designer Position Overview
IDR is seeking a qualified IT Trainer and Instructional Designer for a full-time contract position with one of our top clients in Atlanta. As an IT Trainer and Instructional Designer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality IT technical training and developing comprehensive, role-based end user training content for a variety of IT applications and systems. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate training records within a Learning Management System (LMS) and traveling to client locations throughout Atlanta to provide scheduled in-person training classes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a large, growing organization that values collaboration and continuous learning, all within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective IT technical training sessions to team members, ensuring the transfer of essential skills and knowledge for the use of IT applications and systems.
- Design and develop role-based training content tailored to end users, using a variety of instructional strategies and formats to enhance comprehension and retention.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date training records within a Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring compliance with organizational requirements and facilitating ongoing learning initiatives.
- Travel to various client locations across Atlanta to deliver in-person training classes, supporting the consistent rollout of IT solutions and best practices.
- Support long-term organizational training objectives as this is a multi-year contract position with opportunities for continued professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in IT technical training, computer technology, IT applications/systems, or end user client support.
- Proficiency in instructional design, including visual design, storyboarding, and the development of instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.
- Familiarity with eLearning and content development tools such as Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, Articulate 360/Storyline, ServiceNow, and MS Teams is considered a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to client sites are necessary requirements for this role.
