Database Administrator Team Lead (DBA Team Lead) Position Overview
IDR is currently searching for a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator Team Lead (DBA Team Lead) for a full-time opportunity with a top client in Nashville, TN. This position is ideal for professionals with an extensive background in relational database management and administration who are passionate about guiding and mentoring technical teams. As a DBA Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational excellence, security, and performance of our client's enterprise database systems, both on-premise and in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day and strategic management of complex enterprise database systems, ensuring robust support across both on-premise and cloud-based platforms.
- Maintain and optimize the availability, performance, recoverability, and security of all data platforms to support business objectives.
- Provide hands-on leadership and direction to a team of skilled database engineers and administrators, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Develop, implement, and enforce standards for database performance monitoring, alerting, and telemetry to enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate closely with Information Security (InfoSec) and Audit teams to ensure all database systems comply with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in IT, with a primary focus on relational database management and administration.
- At least 2 years of proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams in database or platform engineering roles.
- Demonstrated expertise with Oracle, SQL Server, and Exadata systems, including advanced troubleshooting and optimization skills.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash for automation and process improvement.
- Familiarity with cloud-native databases, including but not limited to Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL technologies.
